On behalf of the members of your local nonprofit, Emergency Preparedness in Calabasas, a Fire Safe Council, EPIC-FSC, best wishes that this year is an epic one for you.

2024 is here but let’s not forget what we learned from 2023.
2023 was the hottest year on record, according to Copernicus, Europe’s climate change service, with July and August ranked as the two warmest months ever recorded. High temperatures mean greater risk of fire.
Moisture in local vegetation evaporates when humidity levels drop, creating prime fire conditions. If temperatures spike, as currently predicted for summer months, fire only needs an ignition source to start.
Spring will be upon us quicker than you can say “March Madness.” Now is a great time to think about ways to lower your risk from fires when Spring cleaning your yard.
In the face of rising temperatures and unpredictable climate patterns, you can do something to protect your home, your family and your community by acting NOW!
