The recent atmospheric river brought ten inches of rain in Calabasas in three days. There was plenty of advance warning it was coming. Then a 4.6 earthquake occurred. It came with no warning.

While these natural disasters offer a sobering reminder of the unpredictable nature of our environment, they also serve as a call to action for us to prioritize emergency preparedness and resilience in our community.
Being prepared is the key to mitigating risks.
Simply put: a well-prepared community is a resilient community.
We can help!
Bad weather, fires, and earthquakes happen. EPIC-FSC wants everyone to be prepared for all of them.
Think about what you can do now that will help you to be prepared if there’s no advance warning.
If you haven’t already done so, we encourage you to reach out to schedule a Free Home Hardening Assessment and learn how you can better prepare for emergencies, including wildfires and earthquakes.
In addition to arranging a home hardening evaluation, our comprehensive website offers Calabasas residents access to important In-An-Emergency documents. It’s crucial to remember that during an emergency, internet access may be unavailable, so be sure to print and store these documents safely for easy access.
Residents should also “Know Your Zone!”, the new framework designed to improve the management of evacuations and repopulations following a natural disaster.
